Guess the diagnosis – Case #3: Difficulty breathing

Welcome to another installment of Guess the Diagnosis! Here is case #3:

This is Barley, a female 10 year old Bernese Mountain Dog:

Barley’s owner brought her to see Dr. Marie because she has been panting a lot lately, especially after exercise. At times her bark seems to be a little hoarse as well.

    Has she developed a heart murmur or irregular heart beat?

    Apparently this one was too easy for you guys! Two people have guessed the correct diagnosis already. I’m withholding the comments from public view for now so that others can still play the game. I’ll post the correct answer (and notify the winner) in a few days.

    I imagine it will be a heart problem as this breed are prone to them.
