Cat purrs louder than a plane!

Smokey the cat has a purr that is 92 decibels loud – similar to the sound a Boeing 737 makes when it comes in to land.

The average cat’s purr is 25 decibels.

Smokey’s owners have contacted Guinness World Records, but there is no category as of yet for “loudest cat purr”.
